The airport says the flights will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
“This is the first nonstop flight out of Indianapolis to Pensacola, and it was our largest unserved Florida destination,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez. “Spirit is listening to customers and responding with nonstop destination options that fit traveler demand. That creates new opportunities for Indy travelers.”
The airport says leisure demand continues to rebound and low-cost carriers such as Spirit are taking the opportunity to expand into new markets to capture additional leisure traffic.
“We are excited to announce our brand new nonstop flight, connecting Indianapolis with Pensacola,” Spirit Airlines Vice President of Network Planning John Kirby said. “With the addition of Pensacola to our network, our Guests in Indy will now have easy and affordable access to their next vacation in the emerald-green waters and sugar-white sands of Florida’s Panhandle. Indianapolis now has MoreGo!”
Spirit currently offers nonstop flights out of Indianapolis to Florida cities including Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando and Tampa.
