Speedway Names Town Manager

The town of Speedway has selected Jacob Blasdel as town manager. Blasdel, who most recently served as a senior analyst for Virginia-based AES Corp. (NYSE: AES), will begin his new role April 17.
Blasdel succeeds Ian Nicolini, who left last year to become vice president of Develop Indy. He previously served in the Indiana Office of Management and Budget and the Indiana Finance Authority as part of former Governor Mitch Daniels’ administration.
In his new role, Blasdel will work with recently-appointed economic/redevelopment director Tim Gropp in leading Speedway’s comprehensive planning effort, which seeks to address housing, roads and infrastructure, parks and trails and public safety, among other issues.
"We are thrilled that Jacob Blasdel will bring his extensive financial management experience to the Town of Speedway," said Gary Raikes, president of the Speedway Town Council. "As Speedway continues to grow our economy, attract new jobs and investment, and strategically plan for our future, Jacob is the type of leader we need in the town manager role."
A Speedway resident since 2012, Blasdel has served as treasurer of the Speedway Community Development Corp. since 2014.
