Specialty metals store to open in St. Joseph County
Toronto-based Metal Supermarkets is expanding its Indiana footprint with the opening of a retail store in St. Joseph County. The small-quantity metal supplier, which markets itself as the “The Convenience Stores for Metal,” caters to a variety of customers, including machinists, homeowners and hobbyists.
The newest store, the company’s 4th in Indiana, will open Monday in Mishawaka.
The specialty store carries a wide variety of metals including aluminum, bronze and copper. It also offers production cutting, shearing, and punching.
“This business is all about saying ‘yes,’ helping customers find hard to source items, and selling even an inch of material if needed,” said Nick Kolavo, owner of Metal Supermarkets South Bend/Elkhart. “I see Metal Supermarkets as a long-term niche and career, and I’m excited to start building real relationships with businesses and hobbyists alike in South Bend and Elkhart.”
The company has more than 100 brick-and-mortar stores across the U.S., Canada, and United Kingdom.
