(Nasdaq: SPAR) will Saturday host a job fair at its facility in Bristol. Spartan Fleet Vehicles & Services is looking to fill nearly 150 entry-level and supervisory jobs as part of a previously-announced $11 million expansion.
The job fair will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Utilimaster facility at 603 Earthway Boulevard in Bristol. The event will also include a cookout, raffle and plant tours.
Spartan is hiring for first, second and third shift positions, including general assemblers, production supervisors, troubleshooting electricians, machine operators and skilled painters. The company says entry-level general assembly positions start at more than $15 per hour.
"Our greatest asset is our people, and we are fortunate to have a passionate group of talented individuals who choose Spartan to be their employer of choice," said Daryl Adams, chief executive officer of Spartan Motors. "Our Utilimaster brand presents tremendous career opportunities in an era when fleet vehicles and services play an even greater role in today’s last mile delivery economy. We continue to grow and we look forward to adding to our incredible team in Bristol."
The company is offering a $2,000 retention bonus for new employees. Those interested in interviewing for a position are encouraged to bring a copy of their resume.
Spartan announced its expansion plans in May 2016, saying it could hire up to 150 new employees by 2019.
