In October, the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana, Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville, and Southwest Indiana Chamber said the organizations would explore the possibility of merging.
The boards of directors for all three organizations agreed to look at the benefits of making such a move.
“The overarching goal is regional alignment and collaboration that extends well beyond the three organizations involved in the merger,” EDC Chief Executive Officer Greg Wathen said last fall. “If the merger occurs, it will enable us to more effectively and efficiently utilize taxpayer resources to provide high impact services.”
A news conference is set for Friday afternoon. Inside INdiana Business will be covering the event and will report on the outcome.
