Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital in New Albany will soon be under new ownership. Pennsylvania-based Vibra Healthcare LLC has entered into an agreement to acquire the facility, which is set to close June 18.
SIRH is currently managed and operated by Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health, in partnership with Clark Memorial Hospital and Baptist Health Floyd. A spokesperson for KentuckyOne says Vibra will become the sole owner of SIRH, though the three partners "are expected to continue collaborating with SIRH for rehab needs in the region."
"Vibra Healthcare looks forward to continuing to serve the greater southern Indiana community with comprehensive medical rehabilitation services," Brad Hollinger, chief executive officer of Vibra, said in a news release. "Our intention is to continue to provide exceptional care for SIRH patients and to enhance existing services by utilizing our expertise and experience from operating similar hospitals, including several located in Indiana and Kentucky."
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is not expected to have a negative affect on SIRH employees, who will become employees of Vibra.
