SEI READI and the Southeastern Indiana Regional Planning Commission have hired Indianapolis-based consulting firm Thomas P. Miller & Associates to help guide the region through the process.
“TPMA will analyze data, conduct focus groups, facilitate community workshops, and work together to develop a vision and plan for elevated growth in Southeast Indiana,” said Lindsay Bloos, senior project consultant at TPMA.
SEI READI has scheduled a series of community workshops to seek input and ideas from communities and organizations. The initiative includes a variety of stakeholders in Dearborn, Franklin, Ripley, Ohio, Switzerland, and Union counties.
“Regional collaboration, paired with support from TPMA, increases our probability of success. This funding could fuel our quality of life and place, innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, and talent development and attraction,” says Gary Norman, president of the Southeast Indiana Growth Alliance and executive director of Ripley County Economic Development Corp.
Last week, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. said 18 regional groups have been formed, representing 91 of Indiana’s 92 counties, to compete for the funding.
