The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District says South Shore Line service has resumed. All service to and from Chicago was suspended Thursday morning due to weather-related damage reported by NIPSCO.
The NITCD issued an update just after 9:00 a.m. local time, saying:
NIPSCO repairs have been made and the South Shore expects to resume its regular westbound passenger service schedule with the departure of Train 216 from Gary Metro Center at 10:12 a.m.; and regular eastbound service schedule with the departure of Train 9 from Millennium Station at 12:35 pm. Mid-day passengers may encounter delays en route.
