The transition of leadership for South Central Indiana REMC is underway. The nonprofit electric cooperative has named James Tanneberger (pictured) president and chief executive officer, succeeding Greg McKelfresh, who is retiring in January. SCI REMC says Tanneberger will work with McKelfresh to ensure a smooth transition. Tanneberger previously served as division manager for transmission, substation and engineering at Bryan Texas Utilities in College Station, Texas.

McKelfresh is retiring after 42 years with the co-op. SCI REMC is Indiana’s largest rural electric member cooperative, serving customers in Morgan, Monroe, Brown, Owen, Putnam, Clay and Johnson counties.
