The city of South Bend will kick off its 150th birthday celebration this weekend with a torch run. It's the first of several events this month. Ben Folds will help the city celebrate during a concert with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra May 23.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend 150 Torch Run, an intercity relay, will take place Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3. It is the first of many events marking South Bend's 150th anniversary during the month of May.

Residents of all ages from every part of the city will carry the SB150 Flame through 20 zones. Each zone will contain a one-mile course to be completed relay-style by several torchbearers.

The SB150 Flame will travel through zones 1-10 on Saturday, May 2 and zones 11-20 on Sunday, May 3. A map of the 20 zones is below, along with dates and times.

SATURDAY, MAY 2 Zone 1: 10 am — north of Lincoln Way, west of N. Bendix Dr.

Zone 2: 10:30 am — south of Toll Road, east of N. Bendix Dr., north of Elwood Ave., west of Portage.

Zone 3: 11 am — south of Lathrop St., east of Portage Ave., north of Angela Blvd.

Zone 4: 11:30 am — south of Elwood Ave., east of Goodland Ave., north of Lincoln Way, northwest of Diamond Ave.

Zone 5: noon — south of Angela Blvd., southeast of train tracks, north of Lincoln Way, west of river.

Zone 6: 12:30 pm — east of river, west of Eddy St.

Zone 7: 1 pm — east of Hill St., north of Jefferson Blvd., west of Ironwood.

Zone 8: 1:30 pm — north of Edison Rd.

Zone 9: 2 pm — south of Edison Rd., east of Ironwood Dr., north of Jefferson Blvd.

Zone 10: 2:30 pm — south of Jefferson Blvd., east of Eddy St., north of river.

SUNDAY, MAY 3 Zone 11: noon — south of Ireland Rd., east of Michigan St.

Zone 12: 12:30 pm — south of Ewing Ave., east of Main St., north of Ireland Rd.

Zone 13: 1 pm — south of Sample St., east of Michigan St., north of Ewing Ave.

Zone 14: 1:30 pm — south of Indiana Ave., west of Main St.

Zone 15: 2 pm — south of train tracks, north of Indiana Ave., west of Michigan St.

Zone 16: 2:30 pm — south of Western Ave., north of train tracks, west of Dundee St.

Zone 17: 3 pm — south of South Shore Line, north of train tracks.

Zone 18: 3:30 pm — north of South Shore Line, west of Walnut St., south of Lincoln Way.

Zone 19: 4 pm — south of Lincoln Way, east of Walnut St., north of South Shore Line, west of Lafayette Blvd.

Zone 20: 4:30 pm — south of Madison St., east of Lafayette Blvd., north of Sample St., west of river.
