South Bend-Elkhart Regional Partnership opens Regional Skills Accelerator grants

Applications are now being accepted for the next round of workforce training grants available to advanced industry and manufacturing businesses in three northern Indiana counties.
The Regional Skills Accelerator grants administered through the South Bend–Elkhart Regional Partnership provide up to $15,000 per company in 1-to-1 matching funds.
Advanced industry and manufacturing businesses in Elkhart, Marshall and St. Joseph counties are eligible, and the training must occur with one the following authorized partners: Goshen College, Indiana University South Bend, Ivy Tech Community College or Purdue Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
“The Regional Skills Accelerator is a vital tool for ensuring our workforce is prepared for the future,” South Bend – Elkhart Regional Partnership Program Manager Alayna Wort said in a news release. “By helping employees gain industry-recognized skills and credentials, we’re not only supporting individual career growth but also strengthening the region’s economic resilience. This program allows companies to embrace innovation while investing in the people who drive their success.”
To date, nearly 1,000 employees at 50 companies, including Lippert, Patrick Industries and Conn Selmer, have taken part in the accelerator.
Partners in the accelerator include the University of Notre Dame’s IDEA Center, Economic Development Corporation of Elkhart County, Marshall County Economic Development Corp., and the South Bend Regional Chamber.
