A previously awarded military contract with GTA Containers Inc. has been modified to bring more work to the South Bend company.

GTA has been awarded an additional $9.5 million contract to construct collapsible fuel tanks for the U.S. Air Force.

The Department of Defense says the cumulative face value of the contract is now more than $15 million. The fabric fuel tanks range in capacity from 10,000 to 210,000 gallons.

Work will be performed at the South Bend plant and is expected to be completed by January 2021.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, is the contracting activity.
