A major annual soccer event is underway in Fort Wayne. The three-day Shindigz National Soccer Festival at IPFW involves top national college teams and dozens of high school squads. Officials believe last year's event had a $200,000 impact on the area economy. Our partners at WPTA 21Alive highlighted the event earlier this week. The Puma Cup, which is in conjunction with the festival, will feature more than 180 youth teams.

Indiana colleges and universities represented are: IU, Indiana Tech, IPFW, Trine University, Valparaiso University, University of Indianapolis and Anderson University.

Out of state institutions are: UNC, Xavier University, Michigan State University, Marquette University, Loyola University in Chicago and Wright State University.

The event was started in 2000.
