The snack maker is investing $18 million into the plant, which is being built within a shell building constructed last year.
The company plans to have the building transformed into a functional production facility by January, followed by the installation of equipment, which is expected to be complete in February. Pretzels Inc. plans to begin shipping to customers in March.
"This facility will replace our Pennsylvania plant which experienced a devastating fire this past June," says Scott Smith, chief executive officer of Pretzels Inc. "Pretzels is excited to get back to production in record time thanks to a truly monumental effort here in Marshall County."
Pretzels Inc. announced plans for the new plant in September which, at that point, was only a $15 million investment. The company says the new Marshall County operation will create up to 65 jobs.
The Marshall County EDC says the facility is the first major new business in the county in nine years.
