Hannah Esteban had no idea her charcuterie food boxes, filled with meats, cheeses, crackers and other treats, would become so popular.
Her porch-drop “pick me up” snack service, which was launched Valentine’s Day weekend, has quickly become a big hit in the Lafayette area.
Business of Health Reporter Kylie Veleta talked with Esteban about what inspired her to start the Charcutie Girl.
“I was just kind of frustrated at work. I just graduated in December, and it wasn’t happening,” said Esteban. “I had this idea at work. It was almost like God was just telling me, ‘you’ve got all these ideas, so why don’t you just go for it.’”
And go for it, she did.
Esteban quit her traditional job and started to build her small business out of her White County home.
“I texted my husband that day. And I was like, I’m going to just go to the store. I’m gonna buy some food. And I’m going to order supplies and make a box and just see if anyone would be interested in ordering for Valentine’s,” said Esteban. “I had like 60 orders that first week.”
Right now, the business is focused on in-person, porch deliveries in Lafayette and Monticello areas, but she is looking to grow the small business. Esteban says she has received inquiries to deliver multiple food boxes for Employee Appreciation Day activities, small parties and other community events.
“It’s been overwhelming. And in all the best ways. I just keep saying every week, God’s just like blowing my mind. It’s been really amazing. I feel really blessed and grateful.”
So, what started as a single post on social media is now continuing to blossom. Orders for Charcutie Girl gift boxes can be made via Facebook and Instagram.
