The National Association of Equine Affiliated Academics has elected Debra Powell to its board of directors. She serves as associate professor of equine studies at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Powell will serve a minimum three-year term on the board and will also serve as the co-chair of the diversity, equity and inclusion subcommittee.

Powell obtained her doctorate from the University of Kentucky with focuses in equine exercise physiology and nutrition. She owns and operates Powell’s Equine and Canine Therapeutic Services.
