An Indianapolis-based retail marketing technology provider has announced a new name and chief executive officer. Smarter Remarketer Inc. is now SmarterHQ and Michael Osborne has been promoted to CEO from president. Former CEO Howard Bates has been named executive chairman. January 13, 2015

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Smarter Remarketer today announces that it will now operate as SmarterHQ, a move that reflects the company's growth and expanded solution suite that provides retailers with advanced customer intelligence to enable, enhance and empower cross-channel communications. The company is also pleased to announce that current President Michael Osborne will now become CEO. Former CEO Howard Bates will operate as Executive Chairman for SmarterHQ.

Osborne joined the company September 2014, and previously served as Chief Revenue Officer for Bazaarvoice (NASDAQ: BV) where he helped lead the company to its initial public offering in 2012 after growing the business for nearly seven years from less than $1 million to more than $130 million in annual sales.
