Shance Sizemore has been selected chief executive officer of the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council and the Bedford Chamber of Commerce. The boards decided this year to combine the CEO positions to "better serve the organizations and maximize partnership opportunities." He previously served as director of entrepreneurship and innovation development with the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville.
The position involved launching the region’s first community maker space, Maker Station, in Evansville.
He also previously served as economic development programs manager while with the alliance and co-founded the Vanderburgh County city’s first co-working space.
Growth Council President Mike Kern says "I think we’ve found a terrific leader for our local economic development and chamber organizations. I believe he will connect with young entrepreneurs, and I look forward to many new projects and programs that will benefit the local economy."
Sizemore is a Lawrence county native and a University of Southern Indiana graduate.
