Six Named to Broadcasters Hall of Fame

Fairbanks Hall of Fame.
The IBA has announced the 2020 Hall of Fame class that includes TV news and sports anchors, radio personalities, radio station owner, and even an artist whose penchant for painting grew a cult-like following.
“Each of our 2020 honorees represents the highest level of professional broadcasting in Indiana and we are honored to recognize their long careers with induction into the Hall of Fame. From Fort Wayne to Bloomington, and Muncie to Indianapolis to Terre Haute, this year’s inductees are familiar names to broadcasters and viewers alike,” said Dave Arland, executive director of the Indiana Broadcasters Association. “They are not only great broadcasters but, more importantly, stewards of their respective communities.”
This year’s Hall of Fame class will be inducted later this fall during the annual Indiana Broadcasters Conference. Other honorees include:
- J Chapman, owner and President of Woof Boom Radio broadcast group
- Terri Stacy, on-air personality WIBC Radio
- Bob Forbes, first sports anchor at WTHI-TV Terre Haute; the voice of the Indiana State Sycamores
- Bob Ross, host of the nationally syndicated program “Joy of Painting” that was produced by WIPB-TVMuncie
Bob Ross and Bob Forbes will be awarded posthumously. Ross died in 1995, Forbes died in 2005
