South Whitley-based Shindigz has detailed plans to relocate its headquarters to downtown Fort Wayne. The party supply company says it has purchased the five-story Harrison Place building at the corner of Wayne and Harrison streets, where it expects to move its professional and administrative staff early next year.

Initially, the company says 40-50 positions will move into the rebranded Shindigz Place. Plans call for the 33,000 square-foot space to potentially house up to 20 new employees it could add in the coming years. Chief Executive Officer Dan Haight, who joined Shindigz in early 2017, says the move is a workforce play. "We believe in the momentum and growth taking place in downtown Fort Wayne and in its ability to positively impact our growth goals and talent needs," he said. "As a design and technology company first and foremost, we’ve worked hard to make Shindigz a premier career destination, and our relocation to downtown Fort Wayne will only strengthen and enhance that appeal to young professionals looking at Fort Wayne as a place where they can build their career."

Co-owner Wendy Moyle says partnerships with local educational institutions have already sprouted. "We’ve been impressed by how our local and regional university leaders have stepped forward, collectively, to work with us," she added. "We have a need to hire talented people now across a number of creative, technological and digital positions throughout the company, so we’re excited about these collaborations with our area’s outstanding universities and their students."

Shindigz was founded in 1926 and currently employs more than 300 in Whitley County. The company plans to maintain and upgrade its current fulfillment and manufacturing facilities in South Whitley.

Co-owner Shep Moyle says the move re-enforces the company’s commitment to northeast Indiana. Signage is expected to be unveiled at the new office in September and construction will begin shortly after.
