Shah Promoted to CIO at Lilly

Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) has promoted Aarti Shah to senior vice president and chief information officer. Shah, who has served as global brand development leader for immunology at Lilly since 2013, will begin her new role July 1.
In her new role, Shah will lead a group of 1,300 IT employees, along with contractors and external business partners. Derica Rice, executive vice president of global services and chief financial officer, called Shah a visionary and inspirational leader.
"Aarti has a proven track record of building strong, flexible and sustainable organizations," said Rice. "She is known for her relentless focus and passion for developing people. And her deep knowledge of drug development will be vital as IT touches every aspect of our business."
Shah began her tenure at Lilly in 1994 as a senior statistician. She has also served as vice president for biometrics and advanced analytics, as well as executive director of global information sciences.
