A prominent Indiana business and community leader will be laid to rest this week. A “Celebration of Life” ceremony for Bill Mays is set for Friday at Eastern Star Church in Indianapolis. Mays died last week at 69. He founded Mays Chemical Co. in 1980 and purchased the Indianapolis Recorder in 1990, and is considered one of the most successful African American businessmen in Indiana history.
