In a notice to the state, Sensient Flavors LLC says 86 employees are expected to lose their jobs by the end of the year.
The company, which is a subsidiary of Wisconsin-based Sensient Technologies Corp., opened a new division headquarters in the Chicago suburb of Hoffmann Estates in 2013. The ensuing division headquarters shift and company-wide streamlining led to 125 Marion County layoffs in 2013.
Separations in Indianapolis are expected to be permanent and will begin in at the end of the July.
Sensient Technologies has operations in the Americas, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. It also broke ground last year on an expanded flavoring manufacturing facility in Amboy, Illinois, which is expected to create 50 jobs.
