Legislation that would allow live dealers at racinos and permit riverboat casinos to move to land is moving forward. The Indiana Senate will take up the bill when it returns next week from a mid-session break. The measure will be carried by Senators Ron Alting (R-22), Luke Kenley (R-20) and Jim Arnold (D-8).

The bill is designed to support a gaming industry that has continued to lose steam in recent years.

Casinos are facing stiffer competition from new venues in Cincinnati and loosened regulations in Illinois.

If approved in the Senate, it would head to Governor Mike Pence's desk, who has said he does not support expansion of the industry.
