Larry Hensley has been appointed general manager of Schurz Communications Inc.’s Hoosier Times Group. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of The Herald-Times in Bloomington, the Times-Mail in Bedford, the Martinsville Reporter-Times, the Mooresville Times and the Spencer Evening World group. Hensley began his career in 2007 with Schurz Communications as CFO responsible for the Petoskey, Charlevoix and Gaylord newspapers in northern Michigan. He also served as publisher for the PhoneGuide publications during that time, until he accepted the role of publisher of Schurz Kentucky properties in 2014.

After SCI sold the properties in 2015, Hensley continued to serve as publisher for The Danville Advocate-Messenger, The Stanford Interior Journal and as VP of Bluegrass Newsmedia LLC.  He was also publisher of the Winchester Sun and the Jessamine Journal until November of 2016.
