School Opens at Circle Centre Mall

SYF Board Chair Deborah Simon joined Mayor Greg Ballard and Indianapolis Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Lewis Ferebee for Tuesday’s ribbon cutting. SYF says this is its 25th school for students at-risk of dropping out. The facility will house 60 students and eight staff members. During an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, Chief Executive Officer Michael Durnil talks about the success of the program.
The Simon Youth Academy at Circle Centre is a new partnership between Indianapolis Public Schools and SYF.
SYF is a national non-profit that builds dropout recovery academies inside shopping malls. It has programs at Edinburgh Premium Outlets and Clark-Pleasant School Corporation near Greenwood Park Mall.
