Indianapolis Power & Light Co. has hired Rafael Sanchez to serve as senior vice president of strategic planning. Sanchez, currently the secretary for the Indy Chamber, previously served as VP of business development and legal affairs for Indianapolis-based Fineline Printing Group.
IPL says in his new role, Sanchez will "focus on strategic IPL business initiatives while helping to ensure IPL maintains safe, reliable and affordable electricity for its 480,000 residential and commercial customers." Sanchez also serves as co-chair for Plan 2020 and is a board member of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Tanya Sovinski also joins IPL as director of community relations. She will oversee development, coordination and management of IPL’s sponsorships, volunteer activities, charitable contributions and engagement with nonprofit organizations.
IPL has promoted Brad Riley to director of strategic accounts and customer programs. Riley, who has been with IPL since 1980, will be responsible for leading a team to manage activities for the company’s largest commercial and industrial customers. He will also be responsible for overseeing IPL’s Demand Side Management and Energy Efficiency programs.
