Samtec Announces Acquisition
New Albany-based Samtec Inc. has acquired an Arizona company. Samtec Microelectronics Chief Technology Officer Steve Groothuis says the deal for nMode Solutions Inc. represents another key step in its "technology roadmap."
He adds "this furthers our Silicon-to-Silicon strategy of helping designers optimize the high-speed signal path from the bare die, to IC package and assembly, to the PCB, to connectors and cable assemblies, and back again." The deal also includes nMode’s Triton Microtechnologies subsidiary.
nMode provides packaging solutions for 2D, 2.5D and 3-D technology, as well as "smart" sensor modules, RF filters and evaluation boards for the interconnect packaging industry.
Last year, Samtec completed the consolidation of two facilities into a new one at the Mid-America Science Park in Scottsburg. That move involved 300 Scott County jobs.
Samtec has nearly three dozen locations in 18 countries. It was founded in the mid 1970s and today is a $625 million manufacturer.
