Saint Joseph’s Board to Meet on College’s Future

The board of trustees at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer will meet Friday evening to discuss the future of the college, following last week’s announcement from President Robert Pastoor that the college’s financial situation is “dire.” The college is expected to give details of the board’s decision after the meeting.
Pastoor said the college is in need of $100 million with $20 million needed by June 1. He said he and the board have "explored numerous options to overcome the significant financial problems."
A spokesperson for Saint Joseph’s says a press release will be issued Friday following the meeting, though Pastoor will not be conducting interviews on the situation until next week.
