A series of cross-country events that begins this weekend is expected to draw thousands of athletes and fans to Terre Haute. The city's convention and visitors bureau estimates the high school and college events will pump around $2 million into the economy. CVB Executive Director Dave Patterson says the events bring in more than just money. He believes visitors leave with a “good, healthy thought” of the state.

He tells Inside INdiana Business the CVB and other organizations are continuing efforts to secure future NCAA, Indiana High School Athletics Association and Nike Team Regionals events.
