Shaun Hussey has been promoted to user experience strategist for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology’s Office of Communications and Marketing. In this new position, he will help develop and deliver strategies that utilize web, social media and email marketing technologies to achieve communications and marketing goals, build and enhance Rose-Hulman’s relationships with external audiences and increase institutional brand awareness and loyalty.

Hussey also will supervise execution and analysis of Rose-Hulman’s digital campaigns, and develop digital solutions based on consumer behavior and data. Since joining as email marketing and social media manager in 2015, he has helped develop and execute several social media campaigns for the institute. There has been a 50-percent increase in visits to Rose-Hulman’s website from social media posts and a 93-percent increase in audience clicks to information within email campaigns.

In 2016, Hussey’s social media skills were a valuable part of Rose-Hulman’s “Future Faces of STEM,” a grassroots effort to help advance women in STEM fields by showcasing current female students and alumnae to prospective students. The campaign helped increase female student and faculty enrollment on campus.

He previously served as executive editor and art director of Terre Haute Living magazine and web development director and graphic designer for the Terre Haute Tribune-Star. He also was a web developer for the daily newspaper’s ownership group, CNHI, and production manager for Indiana State University’s student newspaper, Indiana Statesman, while studying graphic design, marketing, radio/TV/film and psychology at the university.

Hussey serves as a tour guide for the Swope Art Museum, a volunteer in the arts and culture section of the Vigo County Public Library and a tour guide for the Terre Haute Children’s Museum.
