Rose-Hulman to Dedicate Innovation Center

Subscribe NowRose-Hulman Institute of Technology will Wednesday hold a dedication ceremony for the Kremer Innovation Center. The new engineering design and laboratory building opened to students on the Terre Haute campus in December.
The KIC features equipment for students to create device prototypes for various projects, including a CNC router, a water jet machine, wood cutting equipment and a new tabletop CNC router. It will soon also have new 3D printers for student use.
The building is the result of a gift from Rose-Hulman alumnus Richard Kremer and his wife, Shirley. Kremer graduated from the school with a degree in chemical engineering and would later found FutureX Industries Inc. in Parke County.
"The Kremer Innovation Center is giving our students the skills, experiences and mindset to play a key role in developing future advances benefiting all areas of our lives," said Robert Coon,s president of Rose-Hulman. "Richard and his career success are excellent examples of the core values of this institution at work; values that continue to consistently provide a rock-solid foundation for the current and future success of Rose-Hulman and our students."
The nearly 14,000-square-foot facility also features a Maker Laboratory, open workspaces and a conference room. A design studio will be added for the 2019-2020 academic year, which will support engineering design students.
