A team of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology students will represent Indiana next week at an international computer programming conference in China. Rose-Hulman, Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology are among 21 schools in the United States to have teams competing in the International Collegiate Programming Contest.

The Terre Haute school’s team includes seniors Xingfang "Tony" Yuan and Qinmao "Fred" Zhang as well as junior Yilun Wu. The group will have a five-hour exam period to solve a series of complex real-world problems in areas including dynamic programming, graph theory and data searching. At the regional competition, Rose-Hulman’s team successfully completed eight of nine programs in the time given.

The school says the two seniors already have jobs lined up after graduation; Yuan with Facebook Inc. (Nasdaq: FB) and Zhang with Google (Nasdaq: GOOGL). Wu, the junior, will intern with Facebook this summer.

Rose-Hulman previously had a team qualify for the international finals in 2013 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
