Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology students now have another option when choosing a major. The school has added an engineering design major, which it says will offer a multidisciplinary experience.
Students are enrolled to start the new program in the 2018-2019 school year. Rose-Hulman Engineering Design Director Patsy Brackin says the school is unique in offering an academic degree to students completing a design-specific curriculum in conjunction with traditional engineering coursework. “We’re taking the design element in an entirely new direction in engineering education and providing students with the core design skills to be key contributors in the new innovation economy” .
The new program will offer hands-on experience in the first quarter of classes, and includes international projects in junior year courses. More information on the new program can be found here.
