Rockwell Consolidating Operations to Indy

(NYSE: ROK) is planning to move operations in Illinois and Tennessee to Indianapolis. The News-Gazette in Illinois reports the company will open a distribution center in Indy as part of a consolidation effort.
Rockwell plans to close its distribution and customer-returns centers in Champaign, Illinois as well as its distribution center in Memphis. Spokesperson Bruce Quinn tells the publication the Champaign locations, which employ approximately 200, will close in nearly a year, though the employees will be able to apply for similar positions in Indy.
Rockwell did not provide a time frame for the opening of the new Indianapolis location or the number of people it would employ. The company did not respond to a request for comment from Inside INdiana Business.
