Hammond-based Tri-State Automation Inc. is planning to add up to 50 workers as part of a $2.5 million expansion. The company manufactures robotic and automated systems for the metal fabrication and material handling industries.
Tri-State Automation currently employs 65 workers and has operations in Indiana and Louisville. Plans call for an additional 60,000 square-foot facility and new equipment. Construction is set to begin in the spring and the company says the new jobs will pay an average annual salary of $55,000.
Tri-State Automation says the investment will help keep the more than three-decade-old company in the region for the long-term.
