River Ridge executive director to retire

The longtime leader of the River Ridge Development Authority in southeast Indiana will step down this summer. Jerry Acy, who has served as the organization’s executive director since 2008, said Monday he will retire at the end of June.
The RRDA said under Acy’s leadership, the River Ridge Commerce Center, which encompasses 6,000 acres in Jeffersonville and Charlestown has grown into a commercial and industrial destination.
River Ridge sits on land that previously housed the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant. Today, the business park is home to more than 80 companies and 12,000 employees.
A recent study conducted by Indianapolis-based Policy Analytics LLC found that River Ridge generated nearly $3 billion in economic impact for the region in 2023.
“Under Jerry’s leadership, River Ridge has assumed its place as the one of the nation’s premier business and industrial parks,” RRDA Board Chair Treva Hodges said in a news release. “He joined the organization in 2008 as the surrounding communities were still envisioning the potential of River Ridge, and today we are well on our way to fulfilling the promises of economic prosperity.”
The RRDA also announced that Marc Hildebrand will succeed Acy as executive director. Hildebrand currently serves as chief director of engineering and operations for the organization.
“We know that change can be challenging, but we truly have an incredible opportunity to continue building upon the foundation at River Ridge,” Hodges added. “Marc’s leadership abilities will be paramount as the RRDA continues its work, and his experience with the staff, infrastructure needs and company recruitments will serve us well in the future.”
Acy’s final day will be June 30, and Hildebrand will begin his new role the following day.
