January 12, 2015

News Release

Jeffersonville, Ind. — Paul Wheatley, Director of Marketing and Finance at the River Ridge Development Authority announced today he is leaving his post to create an economic development consulting firm, The Wheatley Group, LLC. Wheatley has served nearly four years in his capacity at River Ridge and has been instrumental in the upward trajectory of the industrial park's profile. He hopes to remain involved at River Ridge in a consulting role with particular emphasis on bond financing and the management of the park's tax increment finance district and urban enterprise zone.

“While we are sorry to see Paul leave as a full-time employee, we are thankful that he is willing to continue supporting our efforts in a consulting capacity,” said Jerry Acy, River Ridge Development Authority Executive Director. “This arrangement will give Paul the ability to pursue his other business quests and will allow for a smooth transition in personnel.”

“I want to thank the River Ridge Board of Directors and especially Mr. Acy for the opportunity to serve this community,” said Wheatley. “We have had great success in the last several years and I look forward to working with the River Ridge staff going forward.”

The River Ridge Commerce Center has seen tremendous growth over the last several years and is now home to over 6,000 employees. Infrastructure development coupled with Indiana’s pro-business environment has been integral in landing some of the recent high-profile automotive supplier projects which have included both Autoneum and Tenneco. The opening of the Ohio River Bridges Project in late 2016 will continue to elevate the park’s status as the premier industrial park in the Midwest.
