The Riley Children’s Foundation in Indianapolis has established the Riley Relief Fund, intended to provide emergency assistance to patient families during the coronavirus crisis. The foundation says the fund will provide one-time emergency assistance for housing, utilities, and transportation, among others. The fund will also support Riley programs and staff needs.

“Caring for a child with complex medical needs creates hardships that most of us cannot imagine, and this emergency will push many Riley families further into crisis. We are inspired by the generosity of our community and ask those who are able to consider making a gift to this important fund. Every dollar that is donated will allow us to help more families,” said Elizabeth Elkas, president and chief executive officer of Riley Children’s Foundation.

According to a news release, the Riley Relief Fund will also support the most pressing needs of Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health throughout the public health emergency.

“The health and safety of our patients are our highest priorities,” said Dr. Paul Haut, chief operating officer for Riley Children’s Health. “Our entire team is singularly focused on ensuring we can continue providing highly skilled, personalized care to all children throughout this emergency. Donations to this fund will go a long way to help us fulfill that mission and support the many children who rely on Riley. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of public support during this challenging time.”

Riley is asking the public to donate to the new relief fund. You can find more information by clicking here.
