The move helps clear the way for South Bend-based Great Lakes Capital LLC’s plans that involve a new facility for Communications Test Design Inc. CTDI is headquartered in Pennsylvania and says it could add up to 150 jobs as part of the relocation within the city.
The engineering, repair and logistics provider for the communications industry currently employs 300 in South Bend and was not being publicly identified throughout the process until Monday evening. It has some 14,000 employees throughout the world.
The approval means the property will be rezoned as light industrial. Current nearby businesses include AM General, Hubbell-Raco, Pepsi, FedEx and Chase Plastics.
