REV Announces Co-Chairs, Date

Thursday, September 1, 2016 07:00 PM EDT Updated: Friday, September 2, 2016 02:30 PM EDT
REV Announces Co-Chairs, Date Rev 2017 will be held May 6th.

A new co-chair of the annual kick-off event for Month of May festivities says her goal is to help elevate REV into the "must see/must do" event of the year. Molly Chavers, who is executive director of the young professional engagement organization IndyHub, will share leadership duties with Indianapolis Power & Light Co. Chief Executive Officer Rafael Sanchez. The 2017 event will be held May 6 and feature a red carpet-style treatment, local food tastings and entertainment to support the Methodist Health Foundation in Indianapolis.

The annual event draws thousands of people and raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity. Dozens of INDYCAR drivers and local restaurants take part. It debuted in 2014.

In addition to leading IndyHub, Chavers heads No Mean City, which is a collaborative effort aiming highlight Indianapolis’ lifestyle and cultural amenities and help current and future residents navigate school and housing options in Marion County.

Sanchez is involved with several community organizations, including the Methodist Health Foundation and the United Way of Central Indiana. He also serves in leadership positions with the Indy Chamber and the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. In a release, he said, "In a very short time, Rev has helped to energize the start of May in Indianapolis in a new way, while also making a big impact to the Methodist Foundation and introducing hundreds of people to their mission  and life-saving work."
