Retired General Joins AM General

In his new role, Keane will provide "strategic oversight and counsel" regarding the company’s strategic growth initiatives.
Keane will work with Chief Executive Officer Andy Hove and AM General’s parent, MacAndrews & Forbes Inc., in his new position. He says the company has experienced "tremendous growth" over the last year and he is excited to join the team.
"General Keane’s extensive knowledge of global security issues, corporate governance and his renowned leadership acumen will be invaluable to the company as we continue our unyielding focus on providing our customers the most advanced and affordable vehicle solutions today and for decades to come," said Hove. "As the U.S. Army continues to adapt to an ever-changing future, we are pleased to welcome such a respected voice to our company’s leadership team."
Keane spent nearly 40 years in the Army before retiring as a four-star general.
AM General, announced last month plans to move its service parts and logistics operations into a new 210,000 square-foot facility in South Bend. The move is expected to be complete by the end of the year. The company manufactures specialized vehicles for military and commercial customers.
