Resurfacing, Paint Job Coming to Howard County Bridge

The facelift of a 70-year-old bridge in Howard County will soon begin. The State Road 26 bridge, which crosses Mud Creek, will be resurfaced and its steel trusses will be repainted. The project is expected to take less than two months.
INDOT says the span is eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places and is suitable for preservation. It dubs it "an excellent example of this type of bridge."
Fort Wayne-based Primco Inc. has been awarded the contract. The company beat out two others with a bid of nearly $485,000. The project is expected to be complete before the end of July and will cause traffic to be diverted. You can connect to more on the project by clicking here.
