Restoration Medical Polymers Locating HQ in Whitley County

Restoration Medical Polymers LLC has announced it will be locating its corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility in Whitley County. The company will invest up to $7.1 million for the new 36,000 square-foot facility.
The facility is expected to be occupied by late 2016 with production starting in early 2017. RMP plans to employ as many as 20 full-time employees by 2019. Most of the new positions will be highly-skilled technicians and engineers.
RMP is currently located in the OrthoVation Center, a business incubator started by medical device manufacturer Micropulse. RMP says it plans to start working with customers to develop materials and processes that fit their immediate needs in the rapidly advancing polymer market.
“The medical device industry finds its perfect home in the Hoosier State, helping the life science industry achieve a $59 billion economic impact to Indiana,” said Jim Schellinger, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. “RMP’s growth continues the trend we’re seeing this year of companies choosing to create quality jobs in Indiana, with more Hoosiers now working than ever before.”
RMP has been offered up to $185,000 in performance-based tax credits by the Indiana Economic Development Corp. The company won’t be able to claim the incentives until Indiana residents are hired for the new positions. An additional tax abatement and CEDIT incentives were also approved at the request of the Whitley County EDC.
