Republicans Set For State Convention

Hoosier Republicans will this weekend gather in Evansville for the 2018 Indiana Republican State Convention. Delegates at the event will formally approve the party’s 2018 platform and nominate its statewide candidates.
The convention will also feature keynote remarks from Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, as well as speeches from top Republican elected officials and candidates from throughout the state. The three statewide candidates that will be nominated include Secretary of State Connie Lawson, Treasurer Kelly Mitchell and Auditor Tera Klutz.
"As a party that nominates and elects skilled, experienced leaders in all parts of our state, we’re excited to bring Hoosier Republicans together in Evansville for our biennial convention," said Indiana Republican Party Chairman Kyle Hupfer. "This year’s convention will be history-making – going on the road outside the state’s capital for just the second time in Hoosier history, and nominating an all-female statewide ticket for the second time as well."
The convention has historically been held in Indianapolis, with the only exception prior to this year being 2014, when it was held in Fort Wayne.
