Report: ‘Successful’ First Year For Johnson County Tourism

Festival Country Indiana Director of Tourism Ken Kosky says year one provided the opportunity "to establish our brand and start to see the positive impact that we can have." The organization released several key figures related to hotel and attraction marketing efforts it says helped draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to the central Indiana county.
Annual report highlights Festival Country Indiana is touting include: hotel occupancy increasing by more than three percent year-over-year in 2017, boosting traffic to its festivalcountryindiana.com webpage by nine times and likes on its Facebook page by four times, and launching a grant program for new and strengthened festivals and attractions. Communities including Greenwood, Franklin, Bargersville and Edinburgh received around $27,000 through the grant process.
For 2018, the organization says key initiatives include releasing destination videos and printing an activities guide for the first time.
