The Greater Rensselaer Chamber of Commerce recently announced it has closed its physical office in the city’s downtown.
In a post on social media, the chamber’s executive board said it does not plan to open a new brick-and-mortar location but will continue to provide business support throughout the community.
The building that housed the chamber’s rented office was purchased last fall by Truth Bible Church. The chamber said the church permitted the chamber to remain in the building until this spring.
“Please know that although we won’t have a brick-and-mortar location, the Chamber will continue to provide the same networking opportunities, business support, newsletters and community-focused events you have enjoyed in recent years,” the chamber said in the post. “And while you will still see us popping in at your downtown locations, we will also be branching out to visit more businesses in the community.”
Rensselaer is located in Jasper County, about 100 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
Inside INdiana Business was unable to connect with representatives for the chamber for further comment on the move.
