Reid Health Awards Grants to Fight Substance Abuse

Subscribe NowThe Reid Health Community Benefit program has awarded more than $200,000 in grants to 16 nonprofits in the region. The health system says the goal of the funding is to to improve mental health and battle substance abuse in the region.
"We are all concerned about the critical challenges and needs in our community centered around mental health and substance abuse," said Craig Kinyon, chief executive officer of Reid Health. "The grants to these groups and agencies are a significant investment in wide-ranging efforts that are having a great impact on what is a serious problem in our region. The awards will support a wide variety of programs, which represent an extension of our mission to our patients and community."
The grant recipients include:
- Achieva: $22,150
- Birth to Five: $21,525
- House of Ruth: $31,200
- Cross Road Christian Recovery Center: $22,500
- Richmond Police Department: $10,000
- Circles® Whitewater Valley: $3,000
- Hope House: $10,000
- Boys & Girls Club: $10,000
- Centerstone: $10,500
- Drug-Free Wayne County: $6,100
- JACY House: $11,250
- Journey Home Shelter: $12,500
- Meridian: $7,300
- Open Arms Ministries: $7,825
- YWCA Genesis: $10,000
- Unchained Praises: $12,250
