Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne has named Heidi Lang medical director. Lang has worked in the Lutheran Health Network since 2002. July 1, 2014

News Release

Fort Wayne, Ind. — June 30, 2014 – Officials announced today that Heidi K. Lang, DO, has accepted the role of medical director at Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne. Dr. Lang began working as the medical director on May 23.

Prior to working as a hospitalist at Lutheran Hospital for the past two years, Dr. Lang practiced medicine as an internist with Lutheran Medical Group beginning in July 2002.

Dr. Lang received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1985. She obtained her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Old Westbury, N.Y. She began private practice in Coldwater, Mich., after her residency in Detroit and Southfield, Mich.

Dr. Lang has more than 20 years experience in osteopathic manipulative therapy. During this time she played an active role in the management of many patients requiring physical, occupational, and speech therapies both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

As the region’s only freestanding facility dedicated solely to rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne, a Lutheran Health Network member, has helped thousands of patients with serious illness or injury regain independence.

Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne is accredited by The Joint Commission and maintains additional accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities for the care it provides including specialized programs for brain injury and stroke. The facility was the first inpatient rehab provider in northeastern Indiana to obtain CARF accreditation in stroke specialty.
