News Release

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership announced today that Dale Buuck, vice president of business development, will be traveling to Germany, Switzerland and Italy later this month. The trip is intended to promote Northeast Indiana to European companies who have an interest in establishing operations in the Midwest and introducing Northeast Indiana as a possible location for their business expansion needs.

During the trip, Buuck will meet with executives of companies who have a desire to open a facility in the Midwest. These companies are in the automotive, chemical and medical device industries.

While in Switzerland, Buuck will attend a meeting held at the U.S. ambassador's residence in Bern. He will be joined by the ambassador and representatives from the Indiana Health Industry Forum and Whitley County Economic Development Corporation. They will meet with medical companies from Germany and Switzerland about the possibility of having a Northeast Indiana location.

“Northeast Indiana has seen an increase in leads from European companies,” said Buuck.

“Over the past few months, we've seen several German and Italian companies look at property in our region. We want to continue to meet with these companies and show them why Northeast Indiana is the right choice for their business.”

The business development trip will focus on showcasing the Partnership's 10-county region, which includes Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties.

The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership was formed in 2006 to help build a globally competitive economy in Northeast Indiana. It is a public-private partnership creating business investment by generating business leads, developing product and fostering regional collaboration. In 2010, the Partnership launched Vision 2020 to bring the region together around five key areas for economic growth: 21st Century Talent, Competitive Business Climate, Entrepreneurship, Infrastructure and Quality of Life. The 10 counties of Northeast Indiana include Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley. For more information, visit www.NEIndiana.com.
